POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for entering data not WestCare Database and partner data systems, maintaining data quality between data systems, and bringing data quality issues to the attention of the Database Administrator. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with Database Administrator to ensure high quality data entry to and from county HMIS systems and WCDB client tracking database.

  • Collecting and digitizing data from hard copy forms and financial documents.

  • Perform weekly audit of HMIS and internal data sources.

  • Identify missing data and inconsistencies in recorded data by working with various other data sources.

  • Reports data variations and/or non-compliance to the Database Administrator to ensure information is reported and corrected as needed.

  • Report out to case management and supervisory staff along with the Data team on data quality issues on a weekly basis.

  • Other data entry projects as assigned by Data Team.

  • Assist other WestCare staff as needed in a collaborative manner to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community. Promote SJVV into the veteran community through various resources such as public speaking, websites, articles, emails, and personal networking.

  • Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality.

  • Veteran/Military preferred.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from LEIE, MSIL, and EPLS.

  • Valid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance is required.

  • As mandated by the State of California those employees who work at Residential, Outpatient, Sober Living, provide Mental Health Services, Administrative Staff or Transitional Living Facilities must be fully vaccinated and have received a booster. Employees that have requested a Medical or Religious Exemption, which has been approved by Human Resources will be required to test for the virus weekly.

  • During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.

  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • One (1) year of data entry experience is required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Not applicable for this position.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting, as well as outdoors outreach.

  • Some outdoor activities may be required.

  • Some travel is required.
